just heard the Winter forecast and it is very very Bleak. That is for Canada and the USA.Going to be a mild Winter and Precipitation will be on the low side.SO it looks like another crap sledding season. We just can't get any rain out here for over 2 months and it is DRY...looks like this Drought will continue into the Winter season. If I can sell my 600,I would be happy as it will not be used much. Will keep the SRX,but won't ride in the crap conditions as was present last Winter.Gonna have to find another hobby.I want to go find a cheap used tri-moto to boot around on this Winter I think..better then sitting indoors all winter.Last Winter we really didn't get to really ride until February and then 1st week in March it was done...I know of a Yami Dealer here that is struggling alot. They still have 2011 new sleds that they haven't sold and they dropped the price on them like to around $6000...not good all around. This keeps up the way they predict it will, the sport of sledding will eventually disappear....:o|:o|:o|

Damn,
I knew I shouldn't have read your post. I hope your not right.
They're saying that 2012 is the hottest year on record. I feel for you guys dealing with the drought conditions. Farmers have lost their income. That sucks!
It was definitely hot around here but atleast we got a little rain along the way. The sleds will still be prepped for the season as always and we'll be doing the annual snow dance. Last year was a letdown for sure but I'm hoping this year is a little better. Keep the faith.... :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow

After last year, I take those "forecasts" with a grain of salt. Last season they were using words like epic. It was epic all right... I'm starting to come to grips with the fact that i have NO control over it, so just bend the big guys ear once or twice and let it happen.

^^^^Exactly......

just as long as they keep the Snow/Grass drags going I'll have plenty of riding

Annual grass drags will be coming up on Oct 6th-8th at Petersons Farm in Brentwood NH. That's always a good time and gets the juices flowing.

Hey Andy..you better win some trophies this season..eh!!.Hey I want snow as much as the other guy..but the way it has been dry here because of Al Nino..they claim it will continue.Winter is not like it used to be with Blizzards and the such..hey my snowblower rarely was used last Winter. There where winters way back where I was snowblowing everyday for hours at a time and got sick of it...now I am wishing for snow to snow blow...:o|

At least the SRX is looking purdy in the garage and all ready to go at a moments notice...I think I could possibly have a buyer for my SXR...just waiting to hear something...

May be a few flurries tonight they say and the football game is in Winnipeg tonight..Go Blue Go!!! if you can throw the ball thru the 70 plus winds gusting here tonight..lost one tree today from the massive gusts this afternoon...#$%&*

I may be wrong but last year I was told the farmers almanac said we were supposed to get large amounts of snow. Never happened so your future prediction of winter being bad this year means just the opposite. ;)!

its all in the hands of Al Nino I am afraid and they say it will keep us drier this Winter. All the more reason it is great having an older Yami instead of investing in a newer 4 stroke for $16,000 plus dollars and have sitting around.

You can always come up here to ride we had the best snow conditions in Manitoba last yr Swan River Valley

Re: Bleak Forecast...

No FREAKIN' way we're missing the snow this year!!! Bought some sleds for the first time in 30 years, and I WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
Canada isn't more that 3 hours north, so one way or another I am going to beat these sleds this year. Not much of a Grass Drag fan. I like the white stuff!!! :letitsnow

I have been reading up on this a lot...actually weak El Niño winters...which it looks like we are heading into..have below average temps with abov average precipitation for Midwest and eastern seaboard. Check accuweather forums long range winter forecast thread befor you give up.

Blue, maybe you will rethink your claims. The upper stratosphere is higher than average temperature, this will be keeping the lower atmospher colder than normal. Colder than normal temps will also be bringing higher than average Lake Effect snow to the Great Lakes Region. Also the Lower atmosphere temps will be bringing higher than average temps to the Atlantic, this inturn will develope into much more "Noreasters" or MORE SNOW for the upper Eastern US and Canada. This is typically the same weather patterns as in the mid to late 70's. Brace yourself to a much colder and wetter winter than last. We will be traveling all over the Upper Western US and Upper Midwest to go riding. Al

You can't predict the weather. It does what it wants too. Especially around here.

Oh, Sorry Mikkkey. Oregon and the Western Continent predictions are lower than average slightly than normal. Still will have great weather conditions for riding. I know somewhere in the North American continent there will be snow and good for riding. Heck, we have 4 months to ride, a very good trailer and excellant sleds to ride anywhere. Bring it on! Ready to travel! Al
