triple piped Viper with DCS

I ran CPRs on my 04 viper S with good luck. The only time i got the dcs was usually the first ride of the year. I think it was just the last little bit of old fuel running through. After that first tank i would run all year with never a blip. Always run the best/highest octain you can find. It bothered me at first and posted about it a few times but i then relized it was always that first ride/tank of gas i was getting the light. I ran them pipes pretty hard on the ice with no problems. My plugs and wash were spot on. In fact i ran into more problems getting it dialed back in when i took it back to stock. Finally got it last ride of the year. Let me know if you need jetting to start with. I kept notes off all my settings, ill dig them up for you. That piped viper was the most fun i had with close on for sure. The MPG was about 10-12 depending on what i was doing. River vs powder.

Nice, was always told it can't b done. Would b nice to have it working and have tripple pipes. I was talking of using benders though, maybee some are better than others about it.

im guessing your jetting properly and you just need better fuel staggs.. a bottle of torco per fill up will keep the DCS off.

havent tried them on this sled yet, I just got them. I run a set on my 02 with no probs but remember old posts about people having trouble with the dcs with pipes. good to hear you had no probs Super

Ran a set of Speedwerx triples on an 05 Mtn with DCS for about 600 miles I believe. No issues here with DCS either.

With Benders on a Viper with DCS, bump the jet up a size over what is recommended. I had to do the same on my '02 SRX after I put a Bender Can on it. It'll ping the sensor and kick on the DCS prematurly. MAKE SURE YOUR FUEL IS HIGH OCTANE AND FRESH.

Exactly what I was told too, that it was just the noise would ping the sensors just like u said. Was told then (few years ago) that u had to take out the sensor and wrap it up somewhere that it wouldn't set off. I didn't like the idea of it not working though.

I run an 04 Viper S with SLP triples and good fuel is the key! Here in Canada Premium is non exsistent in rural areas and sometimes stale in the city! I had hit or miss results with octane boost. 4 years ago this set up did not set off the DCS at all once I got the jetting right no matter the conditions. Now that the fuel quality is poor I am having to mix regular with 100 low lead and it works great. It only costs a little more than the shit premium.

I would highly recommend installing a tempaflow and jetting slightly rich. Then your jetting will adjust automaticaly when the temps change. Also with the DCS it is super easy to get the jetting spot on. Simply adjust the TF leaner till the DCS lights and then turn it back an 1/8th of a turn!

Also from my experience and the other people I have talked to, the SLP pipes are the least finnicky and less prone to burn down.

I have a 2003 Viper Mountain with Bender Triple pipes.
Followed Benders jetting and clutching recommendations and have never had an issue. Premium fuel is a must. I can only get 91 Octane (ethanol free) in my area and have never had an issue.

munisean, Do you have the opticool head gasket or a modified head? Im putting a set of SLP's on an 04. I dont want to spend $ on parts where I dont need to.

I have a stock head and head gasket. I just pulled my head to inspect. I discovered the bad spark plug boot (5k ohm) a little to late. I also learned that the pto cyl is lower compression by design.
I was debating what head gasket to use when I put it back together. Leaning towards stock because it has been running real well for years now.

I would install the opticool head gasket I heard the viper had problems with flow and the opti gasket fixes this. I would also consider installing a srx rear heat exchanger to help with cooling. I did it to my viper only took a few hours and a used srx heat exchanger cost me like $100

The only problems with my Viper S was the light flashed in the mid range . I dropped the clip on the needles and all was well. Had Jeff at CPR do a head mod cause it was recomended for his pipes, which is what I ran. That sled was a beast on the trails. I do miss her.

I have an '03, so no DCS, but I've ran SLP's since new and have the stock head and gasket. Never had an issue.
