Doing preseason stuff. I've had it out for a few weeks, replaced shaft bearing. When I went to put it on, the collar that inserts on the shaft sticks out about 1/2" when in all the way. Is that normal? I dont remember. When I put the shaft back I made sure I tapped the shaft over to line up the 2 set screws into the same spots. The brake rotors assembly fits fine too. Just don't remember it sticking out before. Them I have the 3 thin washers and the 1 fat one then the bolt.

Can't be right. Then the thin washers just slide right over the collar.
Maybe I loosen the set screws on the bearing and tap the shaft over until the collar is flush????

a pic will help us.Don't think you can tap the shaft over since the bearing in the chaincase determines where it should sit.

I'll go and check mine on the SRX and see how much shaft is sticking past the helix outside edge.................................................................................
I am back...........actually it doesn't stick past,the collar slide thru and it sticks out a tad..like 1/4 to 3/8 " max.

with my secondary removed,I measured my shaft. From the retainer collar the shaft sticks out 3 and 3/4" total.Check to see if yours is that measurement. Then everything slides on ,2ndary,collar,3 thin washers,1 thick outside washer and nut.I then have around 1/8" movement then on the 2ndary .
