Don't know if this is the place to say this, but her goes.My ex just phoned me up and she was really in bad shape. She told me my youngest daughter's boyfriend Blaine(both 24 years old) drowned in a boating accident while fishing at Gunn Lake ,Ontario.Apparently he and another guy(this guy he just met after the fishing derby) went out fishing for Musky and the weather conditions were not ideal, but they decided to go.A Boat passed them and created a large wave, they cut the wave at 90 degrees but the boat went straight up and out the back they both went. The other guy grabbed a hold of Blaine but Blaine started to take him down 2 feet under so the guy had to let go.The water was ice cold also which didn't help.He swam to shore and all he could do is watch Blaine struggle and then go under.I was talking to Blaine's friend at the Lodge thru my daughter's cell phone and he said the Rescue team just arrived from Toronto and will be using Sonar to find the body.My daughter is there as well throwing up all day yesterday and in bad shape right now.My prayers are with her and his family. He was a good kid,had a great job..etc. and probably would of married my daughter in the future.I lost a great future son in law. They were not wearing life jackets..which surprises me.He was a strong swimmer but on Saturday he couldn't swim out.
I can't believe a young life is just snuffed out like that.My daughter Chelsey is gonna have a hard time with his death, they have been together around 4 years..he treated her well and they had dreams.I am gonna miss Blaine and can't imagine what his family is going thru right now. They need to recover the body asap and prepare the funneral.Watching the news now waiting to hear if they find him.I don't want this to turn out that they can't find him before Winter, that would be torture for sure on everyone.
Again my Prayers go out to family and my Chelsey.

Sorry to hear about that Blue.....Way too young for a life to end, especially one that was full of good. My condolences to you, your daughter, and everyone else who is feeling this tragic loss.

Thoughts and prayers going out to you bro, and to the team out there finding that young man. It's never a good thing to go through, but it's even harder to console someone who just lost their soulmate. My heart goes out to your daughter. Be strong for her. She needs to know how to pick up the pieces & move on, and you need to do your best and be there to show her how. Peace.

well I got news that the Rescue team found Blaine's body and that my daughter got to see him..don't know how she reacted to this. This I found out from my older daughter tonight. At least there will be some closure and his parents can plan his Funeral...

This is horrible. Unreal how fast life can change...
Gotta wear them jackets for sure. I got picked on all summer because I wore one everytime we were out tubing. Even when I was just kicked back in front of the boat. Hopefully the big guy upstairs grants all involved peace as soon as possible. Its not really "good" news to find remains, but at least there can be a proper funeral, and the greiving/healing can begin. SO SO SAD!!!

thanks..apparently he was wearing a large jacket/parka because it was a windy/cold day.It seems like that parka when got wet really weighed him down, which made it harder for him to stay on top of the water plus he was panicking and just couldn't get enough strength to keep afloat. Not wearing the right clothing and no life jackets didn't give him a chance.Must of been just awful ,I am sure he really tried hard but just got exhausted..at least the family can go ahead and plan his Funeral. You never know when your time is up is what my wife always says.

I was thinking the same,if she was...it would of been ugly.My daughter was a wild girl at her teen years and eventually she meet Blaine and he helped change her life around. My daughter is now just starting School of Nursing..hope she doesn't drop out now. Can't imagine what is going thru her head right now...she has to remain strong, that is what Blaine would want her to be is strong...

Blue,
I'm really sorry to hear about the loss your family has suffered. I hope and pray that your daughter is able to find comfort from her friends and loved ones. We had someone drown in our lake this summer and they didn't find him for several days. Even though I didn't know him it really afffects the whole community when something like that happens. Take care, Dave

I can't even put into words what is going through my mind for you and your daughter. I'll just leave it at this, Sending prayers your directions from North Dakota.

well the Funeral was today and may Blaine RIP.My daughter is pretty Heart broken and sad, told me that they were planning on getting married one day.He was one great guy that would of gone out of his way to help anyone and ask for nothing in return, not to many young guys that will do that anymore.I am sad that I lost a future son in law who was everything a father could ask for that his daughter would marry.Told Chelsey that she has to be strong and carry on,that is what Blaine would want her to do..gonna be a tough road ahead for her and now she has to concentrate on here Nursing Degree for the next four years. It sure is hard for me as a Father to see my daughter cry but over the loss of her soul mate makes it even harder.

RIP Blaine..we will miss you..
