I'm looking for some ideas. I have a pull behind Otterbox sled and I sometimes pull 200 to 300lbs up to a cabin some 16 miles away. Is it worth it to purchase a spare primary or secondary for the pull up to the cabin and then switch it out to play. Or is this probably not worth it.

If you think it's worth it which clutch would you modify for pulling the tow behind? And any recommendations on setup?

I have a stock mountain viper. Stock specs.

Thanks in advance

If you have a mountain viper just clutch it how you like it for the play time. It will pull that easy for the 16 miles. Definitely not worth setting up a clutch just for that.

Think of it like this, if you have a trail to the cabin the sled goes down it easier but add that 200-300lbs behind it and it would pretty much be the same as off trail deep powder or climbing.

i think if anything, you should use an old belt for the pulling, then keep a good one for riding. If it's clutched good to start with, it should be fine. Maybe stop & check the clutch temps. If it gets hot, then you know to take it easy or go to plan B.

Ok, all great input. I think I'll look into getting a heal clicker for my sled. And maybe use an older belt when pulling. Thanks for the comments.
