A friend of mine just bought a 94 V Max 4 the other evening, needs a little tlc but it sounds amazing I've always loved the sound of these sleds. He needs a seat cover, windshield and a little cab repair but the engine is sound even though he says he's going to freshen it up with pistons and rings.I am hoping to get the chance to try this baby out I've wanted to ride one of these beasts.

I hope not bought this one for racing
Lucky! A Vmax-4 is on my list of sleds to own someday. It's the good old muscle car of sleds.

Turning a 97 MM into a race sled is a crime. Probably the rarest of all Vmax-4's.
If you want to race one pick a different year. Just as fast and you won't be killing a unicorn.

AGREE 100%. WOULD EVEN BE WILLING TO BUY THE 97MM SO YOU COULD PUT THE MONEY INTO SOMETHING WHERE HISTORY IS NOT BEING DISTROYED!

I know guys I'm even having second thoughts about it too this sled is in awesome condition still looks brand new only 4506 km's on it. if I sell it the money will go into buying an 03 F7, if u can't beat them join them.
BUT I do like the idea of beating these $12-$17,000 sled with this sled if it can be done, some of our racers here would not like to beat by an OLD HEAVY Yamaha especialy by me

f-7's in my neck of the woods are going for 3200 to 4500 or so. That 97 MM would be worth 2500 to 3500 to the right buyer. If you wanna race a vmax-4, the 97 is not the best choice IMHO. They are the heaviest vmax-4 ever made.
Wouldn't the weight be an advantage for getting the power to the ground better and being its is a longtrack just with a better track and clutchingRustman said:f-7's in my neck of the woods are going for 3200 to 4500 or so. I dont see as big of a problem racing it as long as you're going to run a stock class and not hack it up. I say keep these things out there and running. jmo
