Had the police over Friday night! We had a birthday party in the backyard Friday night. 5 adults and 3 kids. We put on some music so the kids could dance, they're 2 8 year olds and a 5 year old. So the party was from 5pm to 745 pm. 8:00 PM we're inside putting the food away and somebody says "the cops are here".... Havent heard that at a party in about 20 years.lol
So we go outside to meet him. He says he has a noise complaint. We explain its a birthday paty. Everything is over now. Show him the balloons, signs, no beverages other than water and rootbeer.
The cop then asks my lady for her name, adress, etc. He asks her birthdate, shes like "it's today so 9/28/12" and rights it in notebook.
So instead of just leaving seeing its a harmless Bday party, he proceeds to call her name into dispatch, I assume to check for warratnts! Never had a ticket in her life..
Kids are now all crying.
Night ruined.
Then the cop decides, hes not going to issue a ticket (gee thanks officer), and next time if we wanna have a birthday party we should keep it quieter and maybe inside the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where the F do I live, thought it was the USA, and it was OK and actually normal to do things like this....
My girl set the psycho neighbor straight , for now, the next morning. Im just blown away how these cops operate.
SO in the last 6 months, I got screwed over by the chief of police because I was ran into by the school admin and they're buddies. Now We' were almost arrested for a Birthday party that was so wild it ended at 745 PM.

WOW!

Some people would rather rock the boat rather than sit down enjoy life and the people around them.

I would give the person my phone number and say if there is anything that bothers you in the future please give me a call and not take the police away from there jobs patroling the city.

.

He said there is no set time for a "disturbance".

Since one person complained maybe we should just ban all outside gatherings. Thats seems to be the direction this country is headed.

LaPorte you pretty muched summed up my feelings on the whole situation.
Just blows my mind....

So what you're saying here is... you didn't invite the psycho neighbor, they in turn will "show you", an obviously related psycho cop shows up at your door to "see your papers, ya", and yet starting your sled last season didn't bother them? Someone has it out for you dude!
For $200/hour they rent things that can dig 6-8 foot holes... effortlessly.

Maybe because you were playing Justin Beiber?

BIG BROTHER is always watching us..beware!!! I do believe the Cops are starting to abuse their powers, happens in this Country also.Seems like the bad guys or criminals today get a better shake...since they have rights....funny but don't we the taxpayer pay these guys wages...ya like they really care..

Ya when I was growing up I was taught to respect all law enforcement. Officers. Its sad but I teach my daughter there are allot of good ones, but many bad ones too. We have 4-5 in a town of 1500 and I honestly trust none of them. I no longer even help them. If I see I victimless crime and I'm questioned. " I know nothing".... when the chief is a liar that sets the tone and it has.

nothing more than IRS agents with guns. Most of them anyway. Around here the state police are usually the good ones. The sherriffs and city cops ust dirve around wasting gas. I say keep them in the station unless they get a call.kinda like the fire department. They dont drive around looking for fires. they need to realize they are employed by us. There is 2 city cops at my son's school, every morning, directing traffic. I'm pretty sure we can manage to navigate the parking lot & road without them. wonder how people managed before they showed up.
