Last year I installed some speed works triples on my 03 viper. I have it tuned in pretty well I think but I'm having problems with clearance around the power valve cables hood and bellypan. I have the pipes wrapped in a few obvious trouble spots with header wrap. After the first ride last year I found that nearly the entire exhaust should be wrapped including the can. I realized this when after about a ten minute ride that something was on FIRE from contact with the hot can, not good. The fit is extremely tight but the power increase is awesom. If I wrap everything am I going to have problems? I have it jetted pretty rich, 175 mains on all 3 cylinders. I just don't want to burn up the motor or worse burn down the whole thing!

Some guys on here run pipes w/o wrap. I was one of them. IMO for trail riding you will be fine w/o the wrap, i put heat reflective tape on everything that was close to the exhaust and that could melt: plastic and rubber. Trail riding was fine, pipes did get cool really fast when i would stop for fuel or to look at a map but it was fine once things got to temp.

What were you using for heat reflective tape? Where can I get some?

Any local auto parts store or hardware store
175 definitely sound way rich. I ran 162.5 mains with a set of speedwerx triples. I didn't wrap them at all. I rerouted the one powervalve cable under another one to keep it away for the pipes. And you also need to put a 1/2" spacer under the hood mount/hinge up front. Even with this I still have a somewhat melted spot on my hood. The right hood cable mount to the bellypan also had to be melted/flattened to make them work. Speedwerx pipes didn't have the best fitment. I was told that Speedwerx subcontracted the pipe making out to a few different companies so no 2 sets of pipes really fit the same

I used HVAC tape. It is metal tape used for sealing duct work. You can find it in the heating section by the tin pipes etc. Menards and Home Depot def have it.
I have bender pipes so the fit is nice. I did add metal plates to protect the plastic around the shock towers. Wrapped the power valve cables and wiring with this tape, the entire underside of the hood too. Never a problem with melting. I do a lot of riding off trail and tend to over use the throttle. The thing gets hot but nothing melts. I can try to find some pics if interested.

Ya munisean some pics would cool to check out.
Also I went with the 175 mains because of the wrap I currently have on the pipes. I was told to up size the mains if wrap was used. The throttle feels good tho verry crisp no bog or hesitation.

When you guys used the reflective tape on the underside of the hood did you leave any of the foam or did you remove it all? Also the can is super close to the side of the belly pan is it ok if I wrapped it or at least part if it?

I had the dealer install mine when I bought it. He removed all the foam to get more clearance, and then put heat tape on the hood, power valve cables, side of the tub where the SLP can sits, etc. Never had any issues with any melted parts.

What is the foam for anyway it doesn't seem to have much of a purpose really

I imagine its for sound dampening. Removing it and putting on heat shield will give more room for the heat from triples.
