9500 rpm?

My stock Sx-700 was reving 9500 last yr at the end of the season. It has 8000 km's on it and as far as I know the clutch is stock.

Want to get this dealt with but not sure where to look. Primary spring? Looks fine but maybe it is broken? Book says it should be yellow-green yellow but it's black -white?

My nephew detroyed me on the lake with his 600 and I can't listen to that any more.

how is the belt

Belt is prob. screwed from slipping. Spring measures 80.5 mm and spec is 89.4 .

What spring or length would be a good one?

Did the clutch ever run fine? If not you may just need to add some weight to the clutch weights or you could need a spring change etc. Shoot for 8300rpm.

What year is your sled??
I believe it should only have the y-g-y with a free length of 89.4mm if its 2001 and up
If its a 2000 or older it should have a free length of 77.4mm
But if your getting 80.5mm and it has a white dot, my guess is someone put a 600 spring in and its a white-silver-white which is a weaker spring for the less horsepower machine, which could be why your over revving

In the trails, it worked great but on the lake or long straight-aways it was a bit of a dog. It's a '99.

I got a spring from an SRX with a bit more length so I'm hoping that will fix the issue.
