Here are a few pics of a Yamaha traction bracket kit i installed on my fathers ET410II.Install was fairly simple but i had to get extra rivets due to a crappy rivet gun :o| .They give extra traction and look great. These can also work on any strut type phazer, venture, and ovation models.Price was $34.95 US .Got them in the mail yesterday.Heres is the link.http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/a...tail/5/178/349/2269/2005/1/4201/0/detail.aspx

yup they work really well. my et410 has had the same ones i installed back in 2004 ish. made the running boards much stiffer.

still chuckle every time i think about the parts girl that sold them to me. she knew they would not fit my sled. i told her i had a hammer, rivit gun and drill that said they would!

LOL........

Today i check the price on a set of VK540III plastic skis which could fit on a ET410II.Each ski was $150 bucks(US) each.I got lots of spare carbides to fit them but the price was too step for a sled used primary to haul firewood(the steel skis are heavy but the yamaha OEM wide ski skins help alot). With the demise of both the Bravo and VK540(oddly still sold in europe)the only choice left if the 410 gives up the ghost is a track kit for my TRX420.Those workhorse sleds from the competition don,t cut mustard.

that is why mine is still in the stable. i am putting srx skis on it and when those are finished i have a set off of a viper to wear out next.

Got a massive snowstorm here today.Out goes the ET410II to tackle the 3ft drifts.Running boards are much stiffer.Only issue seems to be trouble with the sleds idle if you let it set for more than 30secs after warm up(had this issue last year.Shuts its self off, then a pain to get going ).Fresh petro in it so its not the fuel.Sled has plenty of power through all RPMs.Not a big issue. If you shut the sled of with the key it starts up just fine.Go figure :dunno: .

Seafoam it, that will help. It has with mine. 1/4 can in each full tank. Mine does the same thing for the first two or three mins after being started. It used to do it the first five or ten minutes. I think it's just that funky carb. Noone I've talked to seems to have a good answer.

we will see how mine is after i install the new fuel pump. diaphram split in it between christmas and new years and it used a gallon of gas to go 2 miles.

Couple seasons ago i add yamahas RING FREE to the tank(fix the carb bogging at low RPMS).May have to do another shot.

Idle issues seems to be gone.Cleaned under the plug caps with contact cleaner, then put dialectic grease in there.Much better idle now.Hope it last.

Hey man, I ran ring free 'plus' through mine and it's made a huge difference. I'm actually topping out over 100kph now. Idle is way better. I'm going to do the plug cap thing you mentioned as well and if I can work up the courage I might pull that carb out this summer and give it a bath.

Do either of you guys have the part number for the traction bracket? The link is dead and I can't find it anywhere.

the traction brackets where intended for the 03 rx-1's that i used. they still pop up on ebay but any of the site sled wreckers should be able to get you a set off of any rx they are scrapping. they came on the 04-05 rx1 and wars but you have to order the peices individually. try pm'ing laneo on the 4 stroke side as i am pretty shure he has at least one set.

I was thinking about it for my SXR, just for appearance. I don't really NEED traction but I'd prefer the ones off the Viper that pop up every once in a while.

Just one heads up for the ET410 owners.A local guy sold his ET410II the other day for dirt cheap because he couldn,t fix a stator issue.Well another local had the same issue with his a few winters back. After many trips to the dealer it was discovered that a wire loom that runs underneath the front motor mount(under the Y-pipe)wears against the motor mount and shorts out.The solution is to cover it with some plastc wire wrap(4inches)right up to where it goes into the motor.Seems the VK540s also have this issue. As for the ET410 its mothballed now after hauling 9 cords of firewood(wash, wax, lubed, back to sleep after a well done effort).
