98 Srx boggie wheels

Time to change the six main boggie wheels on my Srx
Does everyone upgrade all six to 5.25 ones or bigger?
 
Its seems to reduce rolling resistance quite a bit. I noticed an improvement last year when i big wheeled my srx that i could push it across the garage floor.
 
I have 5.5" in the front and 9" in the rear. The only thing I wish I would have done different would be dont buy billet idlers without rubber around them. Mine tear up my track.
 
get the 5.375 ones.They were from the Polaris Indy between 83-06.Royal Dist.has them in stock any color.On the back I installed the 7.5 wheels that were common on the 78-79 Srx 440's.You just have to re work the axle spacers.
The bearings for the idlers were 6205 2RS.Bearings for the 7.5 wheels were 6204 2RS.

the rear wheels,also show a couple of the idlers inside the skid.

Since I was at Royal and they had no Yamaha sized wheels

Not from the Yamaha list,but look at the Polaris Indy list and the SRX440 list.
The rear 7.5 wheels are #04-116-91 and the blue idlers were # 04-053-23.The last two numbers stand for the color you want. 23 was for Blue.Check their web site,it is in there.
 
another option is Hauck sells offset spacers for the idlers. I got them on one of my Vipers and it seems to help. Also I have the arginal snow kit (small wheels) in fornt of my idlers on the other Viper. Both have new slides this year so I'm hoping to compare. Will post which works better.

Where did you get them from? Part numbers?
 
with a 121 inch track and my 7.5 rear wheels,my track adjusters are barely long enough with threads to slacken track..can't see how you could slacken track when you install 9 inch rear wheels..

I forgot to mention that my rail extensions have an offset to fit 9" rears.
 
I am hoping my track will loosen up some while riding so that I can crank the nuts down a little more.I put Blue loctite on the nuts for now so they won't undo themselves.
 
I never upgraded my wheels last year
But this is the year...espically with the Toronto sled show coming up
So 6 5.375 and 2 7.5 wheels?
Do you have to use the smaller rear wheels cuz of the larger idlers?
 
there is a kimpex apex wheel royal part # 04-4135-20 that are 5.315" in diameter. fits right on as it is the 6004 bearing that Yamaha takes.
