I bought my first SRX about a month ago and am in the pocess of building the motor, going through the chassis, clutches etc.

My question in... does anyone sell a complete clutch tool set for these sleds? For my doo I was able to buy a complete set, press, puller, button retainers, etc for about $150 new. Just wondering if there is anything similar to that for Yamaha sleds.

If not, can someone just let me know exactly what I'll need for complete disassembly of both clutches?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. This is a new machine to me, but I already love it and haven't even ridden it lol

The secondary can be pretty well managed by hand. May need a little help if your running a high degree of spring wrap. Either way you wont need special tools. To completely dissassemble the primary you will need a tool to remove the spider from the fixed sheave. I've heard this tool is expensive with a little fabrication skill one can be made relatively easily. here is a link to one persons version it should give you an idea of what needs to be done. Once you got the idea of how is comes apart you can build the tool to your liking. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=87348 when you get this far the threads on the sheave are left hand so spin it opposite the way you would think to unscrew it ;)!

Awesome, thanks for setting me in the right direction there! I've got plenty of scrap laying around to whip something together. Thanks again!

hi there..Welcome to the world of the SRX!!.Yes it is left hand threads and don't forget to heat up the thread area so that the factory locktite will release as you rotate the sheave off.I used Red locktite when re assembling the sheave..my grunt tool worked out really good as well.Good luck and have fun.If you can't find that certain tool..go ahead and make your own I always say.My mig welder does come in handy at times.
