so I got a 2 inch riser on my srx and now i bought a rox adjustable riser I think it adjusts up to 5 or 6 inches. After taking the old riser off I noticed that the cowling is in the way, and unlike the old riser where it had holes for the bolts on the top my new rox riser does not. So Im wondering if anyone has or used a rox riser on there srx how they mounted this to the steering stem? any ideas?

I have an RSI that sounds the same. They make a flat plate adapter specifically for the Yami plate.

huh cause I was trying to install my riser today and I also have a round metal piece which is supposed to mount at the steering stem that Rox said I would need to mount to my sled. Im interested in this mount u have for your rsi, do u by chance have any pics I could compare mine too? Id really like to get this figured out soon so I can hopefully get anything else I might need ordered and get it set up.

You need to use the stock pieces. You should have a tube or need one that will be used in the lower pivot points of your new riser.Slide the tube trhough the lower pivots and tighten. Use the bottom stock one piece for the bottom tube of the Rox HA riser to cradle in, and use the two top stock pieces to bolt over the bottom tube on each side. Just picture it in your mind that the bottom of the riser tube is your stock handle bar and use the stock pieces the way they are. Obviously, the top of the ROX will mount to your handlebar.

I just saw this post and was looking at my risers and I think I understand what your saying without looking at my sled. At first just looking at mounting the new riser to my steering post didnt seem to match up but with using the stock pieces first an then the round piece I see how they match up. Im gonna give this a try in the next day or two and hope it all comes together, otherwise I might be back with other questions. then hope I can get some pics up. thanks dmaxx for the info

Your welcome. Just consider the bottom tube as a "handlebar" with the the stock pieces and your all set. Good luck, these risers are awesome!

You need to mount the pivot tube to your stock column with your stock handle bar clamps.Hope the picture helps.Otherwise if you dont have a pivot tube RSI,Powermadd make a pivot adapter base that does the same thing. But it will raise your total height another 1 1/2" and you have to drill out the steering column mounting holes.I would go with pivot tube.

so i was looking this morning at my riser set up and I guess I was confused because I do have the pivot tube from rox that u have pictured. So I just mount that with my stock stuff like my original handlebar was? sorry for the confusion

so I have another ? when I took my old 2" riser off I now have only the four long bolts that fit into the old riser, and noticed that when putting my original mount on my pivot tube those four bolts are close to 2" longer and wont work, so Im not sure what happened to the 4 small bolts that were on the stock setup so can I just find 4 smaller bolts that are similar and use those?

yep you'll need to find your stock bolts or get some @ hardware store.

ok sounds good I figured that an looked around an of course no luck lol so off to the hardware store it looks. Richierich another ? how high can u go with a riser with the stock oil cable? I have a mountain viper throttle an brake cable and realized I will probably be needing one of those, can u get those and do u know what the price will be thanks?

With a standard riser 2" is max. With a pivoting about 3.5" depending how you route cables and bars.I do have the longer brake hoses and oil.gas cables in stock.Let me know if you need anything.
stainless steel long hose=$50
long black stock looking oil,gas cables=$40
long stainless steel oil,gas cable's=$50

Are the stock wirelooms long enough for this mod? And should you reinforce the steering stem for this, due to the increased stress put on it from the extension?

They should be depending on size you go with.I never did anything and i've gone up to 6" on a sled like that.Once again depending on riser height you can reinforce column. Also depends on riding style.I snapped one coming off a jump and made for a scary landing with bars in hand and throttle wide open and tree coming up fast.I then installed a sno-tek column which was common back then. The SRX has a stronger column though. Some just ram a piece of tubing down stock tube for extra strength. If you search on here you should be able to find the mod.
