We are planning another Minnesota trip this year around the holidays. Hopefully this year there is enough snow. Our Base location will be just South of Detroit Lakes area. This year we are hoping to travel much longer distance on the sleds. I have mapped out a route to Branerd MN. The plan is to back pack our gear with us and overnight in Branerd.

Lots of places to stay in Brainerd area. Just depends on what you want for accommodations and what you want to pay. I'm partial to Kavanaughs. It's my in-laws place. Brainerd area is a great place to ride when the snow is good
No-tell motels are fine while on the trail. I hope the snow comes so we can make the brainerd trip. We are definatly going to the Detroit Lakes area. Al
