Anyone seen this before? I have looked on all the fiche's and can't seem to find it done like this. It looks like someone added this setup for some reason. My 600sx doesn't have these added wheels or shafts. Why would someone do this? What are the advantages? What would I use for replacement bearings/wheels? Could I just cut off those shafts if I had to? Ugh.. I feel like a n00b trying to figure this out lol

that is kinda a cruel way to add extra wheels to run against the track. They did that so the shock top wouldn't rub and cut thru the track. There are kits available with longer bolts and added wheels you can buy that look much neater then that.

Would it be okay to just replace the bearings and wheels and just go? I don't wanna sink a lot more into it than I have to. I already need to replace some wheel bearings. I hate to run it like that, but I think it would be okay?

I guess you better replace the bearings and wheels.Someone put that there for a reason. Is the track got marks inside it where the shock mounts??If the shock was originally hitting, something is wrong with the skid.My shocks are a whisper away from the track, but do not hit the track where it would cause tearing of track eventually....

looks like a redneck setup.you don't need it & the factory never put on there & cut off those bolts & check all bearings-grease it up & put backin ;)! & yea i never seen that ether.i would check front W arm for cracks.

I have a 98 600 srx that has the aftermarket kit blue's talking about, I cant say for sure that it does any thing usefull/necessary. Make sure your W arm is good to go, check/replace the necessary bearings/wheels and loose those few pounds of UGLY! LIGHTER=FASTER!

Whoever had it before prolly had the skid or something else setup wrong and that was a band aid. Just a guess.

Looks as though someone bubble gum welded the W arm at one time. Looking for a good one for fairly cheap if anyone has one!

I'd like to just replace those wheels and bearings. Any ideas what they would be or how to find out?

They look like the small wheels for the top middle axle on early yamahas like the phazor or exciter style body.If they end up higher than the big side wheels on ether side they wont hold up for long i think.I have done this for a sled before but used bearings only to hold the track away from the shock.

It took some work to do with bushings to fit inside of the bearing with a hole for the bolt and spacers to keep them inside of the drive cogs.
