I'm doing an xtra 10 skid swap in my sx, I was wondering if anyone is running only 2 rear idler wheels inside the rails on a 121 sled? And also if its even worth doing?
I would not go along with the fad of only 2 rear idler wheels. Removing the rear outside wheels is for deep snow side hill running. Not trail runs. If the outside wheels are removed the track can flex slightly to allow a steeper side hill run. I highly dought you will be doing any deep, high, side hills with a 121. The 121 is a great trail length skid. Add the fourth wheel for more performance on the trail and have a great time. Good luck Al

Thanks al. I was just wondering. I do venture of trail and do some boondocking but I have to watch how much I do with the 121. I was in some 2' pow last year it was fun but with a 121 you really work your a$$ off with a 1" track. Thanks again and ride safe

The extra wheels don't make any difference off trail on flat lands. The difference is in the mountains, removing them makes the sled less stable and easier to sidehill. For flatlands you would have better performance with them on.
