I'm in the process of upgrading the 98 SRX to 2000 electronics and got the wiring harness snaked into the chassis yesterday.I managed to identify most of the plugs and even got a few things plugged in but I have a 2 wire plug with one red and one black located above the plugs for the cdi and regulator.Could someone identify what this plug is for because I don't have anything that I can see that mates to it.
sounds like the test lead for the power valves. a provision for adding power to the system when adjusting the valves.
shouldnt plug into anything on the sled, its just there to plug in your power valve tester if you have one and choose to use it.

Unless this wiring harness has another plug that my 98 didn't it isn't the one for the pv tester thats a white one with 3 wires in it, this one only has the 2 wires one red and one black.

Don't know if this helps but my '01 has a white, three wire hardshell connector (triangle shaped) for the PVs but only two wires going to it. One black and one red.
I thought the 2000 and 2001 systems were the same.
This harness has that same white triangular plug but the one I'm trying to ID is separate all together. It is in the same area as the pv tester plug, oil level plug and another one but my 98 harness never had this plug.It is factory installed too if that helps eliminate any confusion. If I think of it I'll try to get out to where I have the sled and take a pic of it.
triangle plug should be for the tester, if its a rectangular plug with black over red, should be for the smoothing coils, theres 2 over there on the 2000 and up. the 98 only had one and it was located on the hood under and behind the headlight.
one of the triangle plugs would have 2 reds over a black, the other thriangle plug would just have 1 red, 1 empty, over a black.

I was just going through the wiring diagram in the manual for the 2000 and I came up with the same conclusion as snowdad4 that it must be for a condenser/smoothing coil, there's 2 listed in the diagram but I remember only 1 being there so I believe the mystery is solved.
