Thanks to a horrible 42 mile ride on ice, Thursday night we changed hyfax on my SRX 600 and a buddy's XCSP 700. His came off and went on ten times easier than mine. I tried all the tricks, and finally just removed the rear suspension when I got tired of nicking the rails. Why does Yamaha make these things so tight? Also, it looks like the Ripsaw windows would have to stretch a bit to fit the hyfax. I couldn't bring myself to cutting open the window on a brand new track. Anyway, no more bad riding conditions for me, and I'll start each season with new hyfax which I will continue to change with the suspension removed.

i found that when ever i change my sliders i put a bit of grease inside the silder. seems to help them go on and off easier. but that could just be in my head

My sled was extremely difficult to change the slides on this year, too. It always used to be a 10 minute job, but not this time. I'm hoping it was due to it being about 10 degrees outside/inside the garage at the time.

I just took mine out tonight (2000 SRX). They were very tight as well. I very carefully put the sled on its side (blankets underneath) , loosened the track, took the front screw out and (carefully) got them started with an air chisel, about 6 inches through the stock track. Then I put a big vice grip on the part that was sticking out and tapped the vice grip with a rubber hammer. It worked pretty well. I put the sled on the other side and did the same procedure.

i usually fight them also but the other day i got fed up and i took a box cutter and cut the outer lip off allthe way down except where the 2 wheels are in the front. they just fell off pretty much except for the small section under the wheels. i just tugged it back a little and cut the rest. it took 10 minutes a side to get the old ones off and put the new ones on. God i wish i would of learned that 5 years ago when i started riding
