Hello, just picked up a 74 433 gpx. Going to oval race it. Would it be better to go with 36 or 38mm round slide carbs? Also what is the easiest way to rubber track one? Thanks Rich.
 
carb size for ovals i run 36 and 38 mm of both of mine 38's will be the better choice ............as far as rubber track conversion been there done that you will need to build a custom drive shaft and track donor will come from a 600 eltigre 81 ish ............plus you will have to move the rear axle bracket a few inches forward and redrill the hole and trim the back of the rails ..............it would be alot easier to put a std 116'' yamaha track and and you will need a 76-81 ex 340 440 drive shaft .............and for a skid either original phazer or ex 340-440 rear skid
 
Hello, thanks for the info. What year srx secondary would i look for? Also i think i read somewhere that you run a srx primary. I was considering a comet 102 but if the srx would be better, is there a better one? The oil injection is not hooked up if that matters. Thanks Rich.
 
take the oil injection completely off ...........no need for it ........for most guys the comet is a better choice easier to tune and find rebuild parts for a srx/ex primary is no cheap date and requires alot of attention and hard to find parts..........most of my stuff has many custom stuff to keep them going ...........depending on rules for what you want to do the polaris set up works great i run it on my SSR clone and mod gpx ..........as far as secondaries the EX and SRX secondaries are all the same except springs and helix's you are looking for a secondary with yellow secondary spring and the 8A7 helix pretty much all 77-81 exciter has this secondary and 78-80 srx will have this set up too ..........if you need a comet clutch i have a few but they will need to be rebuilt ( that i can do for you ) ........pm me i can give you some carb set ups and some clutching tips
