Guys I have a 2001 venture 600. I purchased the sled used. My question is how do I know they straps are set correctly? Is there any adjustment and what do they actually do?

Thanks

If you put the sled on it's side, you can reach the adjuster bolt with a 12mm wrench, use 2 to avoid damaging the lock nut.

Limiter straps are used to control how much ski pressure you have. Tighten them up, and it'll steer heavy, but should push less, also it won't go through deep snow as well. Loosen them, and you get lighter steering, more push.

I like a loose strap for more travel and quick handling, but it takes an agressive ski to make it work. You could lay down $15 for SkiSavers from www.berstromskegs.com to make your stock skis carve much better, and have a nice little set up.

What kind of riding do you do?

Thanks John. I mainly ride the trails at 20 or 30 MPH. No speeding around. I guess I need to play with the straps until it feels good to me.
