Have a question for u heavy hitters. Should i just take some cylicone inbetween the gasket. Or just line it up put a little to keep them lined up. And how much u think it would lower my comp. I wasnt going to do it but few guys said i was cutting real close with my comp ratio and detonation so better off to doit. I hate to blow it up again. Thanks for the help.

Have you checked your squish? Whats your ratio that your concerned about?

If you were to do it I wouldn't use silicone. I would only use anaerobic sealer. When torqued the silicone will vary in thickness and will not cure. The anaerobic will torque better and in dries in the lack of oxygen and what ever squishes out will be burned up when you run the engine.

I dont use anything in between them if I use more then 1 base gasket, never had any sealing problems. By adding a base gasket your only adding .010" more squish clearance to your set up, whats the clearance before this with just 1 layer?

I havnt checked squish. I had a guy around my area put my engine together and he said it was 13.1. Personally not sure how to check squish. Every cylinder is 155 maybe alittle higher. I dont even dare to start it my luck ill blow another one.

you use lead rod, shaped so you can slide a piece on each side of the piston lined up with the wrist pin. make sure it is not too thick to start with, if your looking for a .065 squish, dont start with .125 thick lead. you can use it but squish it down with a tap from a hammer so that it is closer to what you think your squish is. If you try to squish down too thick a piece you are putting too much pressure on your bearings and rod. This is also the reason for checking both sides at the same time. measure both and take the average. If you just do one side, your piston can jamb in the hole and give you the wrong reading. Also, it puts undo load on one side of the piston, bearing and rod.

Going to measure again to make sure. Should i do all three cylinders? My comp ratio is 13.1. Just wanted to say thanks again for every ones help.
