I have found it is difficult removing that cable and even worse trying to get it back on.I now remove the plastic nut from the choke flipper on the dash and slide the flipper thru and out and then I can remove the carb rack without tampering with the cable end..much easier and quicker.

A good pair of side cutters! Its actually quite like the throttle. Loosen jamb nut, turn threaded tube out. As you do this chokes will be engageing so to speak. When the threads are nearly out the chokes will be nearly fully engaged. You will need to grab them and hold them in closed position when last threads are coming out. The cable will slide threw the slit, rotate the "knob" on the end of the cable to free it from choke arm. Disregaurd the offer to coach over the phone. I forsee a "hard starting" (choke out of adjustment) and a "sled back firing and wont go" (throttle cable to tight/activating TORS) threads in your future.
