2000 sxr hard to pull over

Working on a 2000 sxr and it's damn hard to pull over
Starts and runs good
Any ideas why so hard to pull?

LOTS of compresion Belt squeal at all? Primary might be drgging on the belt a little bit.

It's hard to pull with no belt on
I will chech compression

I think he meant diameter of recoil itself. Larger diameter =easier to pull.

Ya, the later models red heads had a larger dia. recoil. My 2001 is much easier to pull over than the 2000. Oh, both are SXR 700's. Al

Should I Measure the diameter of the round part ?
What should the large one be?

I can see that the one on my Srx is
Bigger but a different style

I can start
But it isn't mine
Just cleaning carbs and getting it ready for friends
The recoil that is on it is petty small the assembly doesn't even cover the end of the case

I have no idea about diameter. I do know my GF's 2000 sxr 700 pulls a heluva lot harder than any of my srx's!
