have my 600 SRX on Kijiji for a while already, not to many responding to it..but the other day someone asked me for more info about it.He says he will agree to my price and asked for my Paypal so he could transfer the amout to it and since he is out of town now, would have someone come and pick it up later.Sounds really good I thought, how could I go wrong. If the money is transferred to my Paypal..I should be happy. It would be his problem picking up the sled without seeing it first.I thought to myself maybe this doesn't sound right even though it does sound right.
How can I get screwed on a deal like that.especially if I get the money transferred to my account?? Can anyone explain that to me.
Reported this to Kijiji and they thanked me for the info as many others have explained and apologized for my mis -fortune on a sale. They will ban whoever placed the emails to me,but I am sure these scam guys have 100's of different e-mails.The guy emailed me twice with 2 different e-mail accounts..that says something eh!!

if it was a scam, my guess would be that once the deal started to go through, he would have some trouble sending money, or would send the wrong amount, forget where the decimal went. once you notice and call him. he would appologise and say he would take care of it as soon as he could get to a computer, as his guy is there to pick it up, i would bet, he would still be just about to take care of it. his guy being in a hurry and a good actor would have talked you into the deal even though the guy hadn't taken care of it yet.
or you just turned in your legit buyer.

guess I will never really know now..lol instead of getting $3200 he would have sent $3.20...wow honest mistake. His guy wouldn't make it off my property with the sled and would get some use out of my 303..

personally, I just think you just missed a sale. I dont see how they could scam you in this situation unless you let them leave with the sled before the payment cleared.

on kijiji it strongly states to meet person face to face and be paid in cash.Just seemed to easy when the guy didn't even bicker with the price and just said I will pay you your price..Funny after I told him CASH ONLY..he never got back to me..makes me want to say "h'mmm"

That was def. a scam so good for you for sniffing it out. Ive been selling a few thing the last few months. Everytime I post or repost something I get these damn scammers after me. LEt me narrate how the email will go. It will start by them saying they are a merchant marine or in the navy so they have minimal access to a computer. Then they are always happy with your asking price and will gladly pay it. They will then have someone come pick it up without seeing it. As soon as you try to get their phone number they will stop emailing you. I like to tell them to please go F youself and then have a nice day!!!! Lol. It really is crazy how much it happens though in all seriousness.

what good has come out off the internet..always trying to find a way to steal from people. It will only get worse with hackers out there. What has this world come to.At least one good thing is that Totallyamaha turned out to be good. With all the scams on e-bay,craigslist,kijiji,facebook predators,etc..how did we mange before the internet...we were better off .
