Phew!!!! Poured the capful of pre-mix down the cylinders, opened up the choke and she started one pull. Only thing was she idled at around 5000 rpm for a bit before i relized the throttle too tight...That was easy.. couldn't believe it took all this to get her started but no more pulling 800 times for me in the fall.. Can't believe i cleaned my own carbs. If I can do it then anyone can. The hardest part was removing and reattaching the choke cable, any easier way to that? And im gonna start another thread on how to adjust choke, i know how to do it but don't know how to tell where choke should be, i know how to lossen or tighten it. Thanks for the help

Tighten the choke until there is very little play in the choke lever on the dash. You can also see on the carbs if the choke is starting to open. There is no easier way to get to the choke, unthread it first before unhooking the cable would be the only advice I have for you on that.

Glad you got the sled running again.

That's awesome man! Congrads on doing your first carb clean. Removing the choke cable is the last thing I do before pulling the carb rack out. It's pretty crowded over on that side so I actually pull the carbs out of the rubber boots and lift the choke side of the carbs up. It makes it easier to get to the cable and linkage. unscrew the cable, and pull the end out of the linkage.
Again,.... congrads! Glad you got her runnin.

I never pull the choke cable off the carb rack.
I just take the nut off the lever end at the dash and feed it out or in as needed.

Works for Me

Works for me too, much easier than messing around on the other end.

Nope. I certainly read it. I've always done it the other way. Right there disconnecting everything anyway. Takes me no more time than removing the throttle cable. To each his own......

I usually remove the choke linkage from the carb rack by removing the one philips screw holding it on. The whole linkage assembly comes off and you just need to make sure not to lose the plastic sleeve and spring, then you don't have to drag around the choke cable and you also don't have to adjust the choke after. Just another way of doing it ;)!

Yup, Same way here. but stupid me somehow managed to lose the little white plunger so I had been using a mini bungee cord to pull open the carb slide until I get the new plunger!!! :o|
