viper oil

i have pipes so would that matter. i used 1 and a half gallons in 140 miles sat whey am i using so much

Are you sure in gallons and not Quarts!
I have a piped Viper and my last recorded oil consumption was 199 miles per gallon of Amsoil 2000/Dominator. And I did not adjust the oil cable from stock setting to less oil yet.

Your oil cable pulled out?? I have already done this and the cable comes apart at the joint and is out of adjustment because of this, just had to push it back in.

Thats a awfull lot of oil!!

Exactly snakebit!!! I bet the oilpump cable is pulled out of the adjuster running at full pump stroke, check it where the rubber sleeve is, easy to pull it out of the adjuster when the airbox is out or something like that. That or someone drilled a 1/4" hole in bottom of your oiltank....lol

where is this cable located is it under the tank and i was looking at it today and there is tons of black oil on the inside of the belly pan its all black and looks like a rich oil that would come out of the pipes so i think its leeking from somewhere thanks guys.

Look at the carbs, you will see the throttle cable going into the top, right there in front of the throttle you will see another cable(side of airbox is where it will go up besides), this is the oilpump cable, you will then see a rubber sleeve on cable, pull it back and see if the cable end is sitting down inside the metal adjuster housing, it sounds like its on top of it.
