hello

installing an electric start kit in my 2004 viper S this week. have thoroughly reviewed installation service bulletin and familiarized myself with component locations.

The service bulletin applicable for installation suggests checking clutch alignment upon re assembly of the primary.

my question is how do i do that

i have the commonly available $20 clutch alignment tool, but unfortunately it is for non electric start, meaning non ring gear models.

any suggestions on how i might verify clutch alignment without the expensive tool

Straight edge against the back of the secondary extending to the primary. It should be 12mm to the front edge of the primary ring gear from your strait edge. It has always worked for me without any problems. Clutch alignment tools for e start are hard to find if they even exist?
