i want to make my 99 srx 700 to a long track. want to know some opinions out there on different kits. i see hartman has a kit and also mountain performance. i want to go to 144".

i also want to know how much the lower approach angle work between either style. i am tired of running through the deep stuff at about 9000 rpm and goin nowhere and getting stuck sometimes

you wont find anything at mpi, so your choices may be limited. hartman would be the first call but seems like in the past he didnt like doing the srx to 144, but only he can tell you for sure. once you have talked to him, i may be able to direct you to other options.

the approach angle make a huge difference. something you want to key in on. i have done srx's to 141, 144, 151, and 155. learned a few tricks along the way.

call tom at hartman and pick his brain. 208-468-1073. he is on mountain time so factor that in. he is very knowledgable with what he does and sells.

we can take it from there.

^^X2 The SRX kit is the same as the Viper's. Just did his 144 kit w/ skid re-location on my Viper & it came out awesome. Tom is the best when it comes to this. The most helpful guy you could talk to. If you get his answering machine, leave him a message and he WILL call you back within the hour. Kit quality is top notch also.

Sharp looking sled! Keep up the shine.
As stated above, call Tom Hartman and get a kit that relocates suspension or at least changes the approach angle. Finding a skid out of a 2000 up Mountain Max or a Mountain Viper would be a good starting point as well. There would be other more expensive aftermarket options as well.

Track approach angle is everything! I had both a 98MM and a 2000MM at the same time. The 98 had the steep approach angle and the 2000 the new geometry. Night and day difference between the sleds. On the 98, a ZL500 short track would keep up with me riding around in 3+ feet of powder. pretty sad considering I had the "Mountain" sled.
