I have always been a fan of the snowmobile auctions at Bronson Michigan. White start auctions. But, for the last few years it has become very dissapointing to me. Seems to be lower sled turn out as well as lower buyers. A few years ago, White star changed the commision payment from the seller to the buyer. So if you are buying a sled you also must pay the buyer premium or commision. Barret Jackson they are not! I still believe the commision should be placed upon the seller. When I sold units, i had no problem paying for my units to go through the auction, this is standard practice for most sales lots and auction sites. Now, if I buy a unit for say $2,000 I also must pay a 10% commision and a 7% sales tax, plus the seller also pays a service charge of $25. I don't mind paying the sales tax, but the extra $200 just to have the opertunitiy to buy the sled. Anyway, I have stopped buying from White star, just as many others have also. Too bad, Ride safe Al

ALOT of the auctioneers have ran with the "buyers premium",Pisses alot of people off when they are winning bidder at for 2K than when cashing out.....$2500!!!!! Some waive it for cash buyers.

They are trying to get more sleds in the auction and that is a way to do that. Keep the premium in mind when bidding, have a limit on the item. Thats what I do. There have been some good deals to be had even with the premium. Sales tax is 6% in Michigan.

Yes, I have found great deals, but most sellers are not lowering the minimum bid. Quite a few "no sales". Buyers and Sellers need to both realize the premium. Maybe White Star should split the premium. 5% to both seller and buyer. Al
