Any recommendations on a good electric shield plug kit for SRX and Viper?
Also if there are any tips or tricks any of you have used I would appreciate it..

They are all pretty much the same and the kit should come with your helmet. If your just wiring in new extra ones radio shack will carry the supplies you need. Its just a simple RCA jack (female end for sled) should be male on your helmet. Then wire to your choice. Do a search lots of good places to wire in. I used to use the blue wire under the handle bar pad. SOme guys wire into the break light ect.... I have e-starts now so i wire right to the battery now.

I ponied up the dough for a new modular GMAX with heated sheild last season.......wire is still in the box! At first wasnt surewhich sled I would be primarily riding and then decided I really didnt needit as much as I just needed a new helmet! Pretty good write ups in the tech section though.

You should definitely put a fuse in-line with the electric shield wiring. You don't want to get stranded somewhere due to a short circuit in the shield wiring. It is not likely you will ever have a problem withthe wiring but a fuse is cheap and simple protection. If you put a fuse in the circut, tale a spare fuse to the fuse holder, just in case.

Don't know much about electrical or fuses..someone said put in a 10-15 amp self resetting fuse? I have one SRX without electric start and a Viper with electric start to wire. Would you still use the blue wire off the handlebars on the Viper?

No need on your viper. Just wire hot to battery and ground it off on a clean bolt or even neg on battery. You will be good to go.
