Vmax OR Srx???

Im possibly buying a srx or vmax. The 2001 srx 700 is $2300 equipped with triple pipes and ohlins shocks. The 1997 Vmax 700 is $1400 and the guy says it will do 220km but I thought the srx's were clocked for only 200km? Both sleds are in excellent shape. Which of these are a better deal? and which one would go faster? thanks
 

Keep in mind this is MY opinion. Based on prices around here vmax is overpriced, srx is decentlly priced, Especially with ohlins. Vmax is a little easier/less maintance motor wise. In stock for skids are identical. Me personally I would go with the srx.....Wouldnt even think twice about it. If only for the fact of the beautiful blue versus the red!
 
As long as the SRX is in decent shape, no question in my opinion, SRX hands down. I LOVE my 200 SRX, the BEST sled I have ever owned!!! If I had the room, i would have a fleet of them!! They are a blast to ride!!

I had an old jet boat with the tunnel ram, big chrome wet headers, and custom paint. Whenever anyone asked "how fast is it", I said 100 MPH (BS).

Top speed dosen't matter. Don't make decisions based on what somebody says unless they can prove it.

My buddy used to believe whatever they claimed in catalogs. When I got my SRX he thought he had me coverd w/clutching and triple pipes. When I rolled around him at will on a straight away he was really upset. Not to say that his sled was slow, it wasn't, but the SRX has some long legs. WIth a little work, they are even more fun.

I believe the srx is good for about 160kph stock, about 100mph. I just bought a 2000 srx for $1800, and cant wait to get on it. just got about 3-4cm tonight. :letitsnow get the srx, my brother has the identical sled and says its like its on rails on the trails. best sled Yamaha ever made imo.

I have rode many sleds of pretty much all makes and models. I will NEVER forget the first time I rode a SRX 700. Wasnt mine so wasnt getting after it....too much ;)! Putting along...had give the throttle a bump a few times, HUM..pretty snappy.....Came out into a nicelong straight away and NAILED it......Damn thing almost shot right out from under me! I have bought 4 since and a sxr700 (basically vmax with more suspension) for the girlfreind to ride!
