Found that once the sled was buried it had little power to turn my studded 1 1/4 ripsaw. So i ordered a 18t top gear. I am dropping 2 teeth.

Anyone have any idea how long it may take to do. Or tips on doing it?
Sleds in a trailer at a buds. So its not like i can look at it.
let it snow
thanks

consider a shorter chain as well. you need to know what you have in there gear wise as i would have thought you to have like 21 or 23 unless something changed with the track install.

remove the exhaust, drain the chaincase, pull the case cover, loosen the tensioner bolt and pull the gears and chain.

i usually break the nut and bolt loose prior to loosening the tensioner. you need a 14mm for the bottom gear and on that sled i think its a 29mm on the top.

pay attention to the collars behind the gears along with the shoulder orientation on the lower gear.

shouldnt take more than an hour, depending on whos watching and what your drinking.

Hope i can reuse chain

Crap i think your right. looks like it may be a 23. Seems that 18 may be way too small. 20 bucks wasted?

Thats the info i found. really hoping i can reuse old chain. Thanks for the info. Hate to get it tore apart at buddys shop and find the chains to long. I guess the chains have no master length? thanks again.
