Just installed a rear cooler on the 144 extension on my srx. The coolant hoses were sold to me from a member on here. They were supposed to be from a mountain viper but they are too small in diameter. I managed to squeeze the hoses on the inlet end but the cooler end won't stretch over the inlet. Kinda weird seeing it was supposed to fit a mountain viper. So what is my best option splice a price of 1 inch tubing or buy new ones from Yamaha.

Either way will work fine.I used the supplied splices when I extended my Viper with the Hartmann kit.

You can buy the splices at any plumbing or home store. I found the exact ones Hartman sent me at the local lumberyard. I ended up not using them or the hoses though because I didn't use the crossover tube. So the inlet on the cooler is 1" dia. or 3/4"? Pics would help. What cooler is it?

I see there are two different hoses listed on Yamaha one must be for the cross over pipe and one for the cooler. Il assume I have the one for the crossover pipe. Where is is the smaller one

Take your stock hoses with the elbows, stick in a 1" hose splice, then get some 1" ID hose and finish it. Thats what I ended up doing on mine. If you have the Mountain Viper hose covers, you will need to trim them out more also to clear the hose. Your gonna need some extra hose clamps also.

I have covers from an Mountain max. That seems like it would work pretty good. i was just woried about it leaking under pressure but i would hope it would never get that hot. Any clue whether the cooler would need any protection. i really can see how the track would ever get close enough to it with the drop brackets?

As long as the clamps are tight you should be fine. I did not put any guards on mine. Thats a long ways to travel for the skid to hit the cooler. I used my original Viper cooler which is bigger then the Mountain Viper cooler and I have tons of room. See pics in link below.

Its an 04' Viper. I had to drill my holes for the bumper. That extension fits other yammies that have the bumper on the outside so they leave it up to you. The bolts go thru from the outside & are under the covers. Where did you get your long track kit/extension?

I used 1" hose from napa and coil over springs that keep the hose from kinking at the bend. Worked awesome. Post #75 for pic's http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86904&page=8&pp=10

I used a hartman tunnel ext and used an apex bumper so they would mound on outside of tunnel. Looks perfect with the hose covers. If you want to cover the hole in your tunnel ext and go with the outside bumper just buy a new nytro style snowflap and mount it high. Will cover the holes and look awesome at the same time. Post 101 has some nice pics of the rear bumper/snow flaps. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86904&page=11&pp=10

Are coolant hose covers for a mountain viper wider than cones from a mountain max. I have coolant hoses from mountain max and I have a mountain viper rear cooler. When I put the covers on they get pushed out by the hoses and look a little funny. I trimmed the covers I the inside as much as possible but the 1 inch hoses seem to push it the covers out. Has anyone run into this
