Watercraft based triple

I've been reading about Polaris watercraft based triples that make huge power, has anyone tried this with a Yamaha waverunner 1200 triple in a sled application? I know that the Polaris engine doesn't use much other than the PWC crank-cases, just wondering if anyone knows if it's been attempted with a Yamaha engine.

Yes Doug flannerry did it years back .
 
Do you know if he's still building engines? I'm interested to see how it worked and what kind of HP it made.
 
Apparently he only built one PWC engine for a customer though, it was going in an SRX. I'd like to see if it worked. It would be cool to see a Yami PWC based engine instead of Polaris.
