Wondering if cleaning the power valves on 2003 viper is nessary and if so how often?

ABSOLUTELY! How often will varie ALOT based on A. how you ride B. What brand/type (synthetic/conventional) C. How well you clean them when you do. I run amsoil interceptor, supposedly designed for power valved motors. I usually clean during pre-season maintance and then check every once in a while. Probably not the correct way but I pull the cover off the servo and push the cable with my finger, if its cleanish you will hear tink tink, if its dirty gummed up cable will be real stiff and no tink tink. I have 2 spare sets,(3 srx 700s) Makes it ALOT easier to swap dirty with clean ones and then clean them when you have more time. This also gives the freedom to soak and all the time in the world to clean them with no rush to clean and put back in so you can ride. Post a wanted add for valves or contact yamahead and see if hes got a set for sale. DONT TRUST FLEA BAY SELLERS! Viper valves, Srx 700 valves,Srx 600 DO NOT interchange!
