Hi guys. Bought a 1998 xtc for a fun at home river ditch banger. I am switching out the metal skis for some saddeless yamaha ski's. Whats the best and cheapest way to get my height back? I know i can change to viper trailing arms and spindles but im sure that will get expensive. I remember reading a post about someone who just ordered viper spindles and made a spacer with success but cant find it now and what they did. This souunds right up my alley. Or if anyone has a set of viper trailing arms for cheap let me know. Any ideas or help welcome.

rx1 mnt

I put rx1 mountain skis on my 97prop xtc. Think i only lost an inch. No mods. Bolt ed right on.good luck

Like jas said, its about an inch..
If you go the viper arm route, i have a brand new set of artermarket arms (no spindles)

keel

1 more thing. The keel on the rx1 mountain skis are about an inch plus carbide. Ski without deep keel might sit around 2 inches lower. But what ever.snow already.

with my SRX I put USI skis and it was lower then stock..because the carbide runner mounting threads where longer then normal going thru the saddles,I got some 1/4" rubber mat and sliced it up the same size as the bottom of the saddles.I ended up stacking 3 of these under each saddle(which raised the mount hole in the saddle to match stock saddle.) I didn't lose any height then from the 2 different ski's now.You can also tighten up the front shock springs in front also to raise the front.I did this on my SXR to raise front about another inch and still feels good when I push down on the front bumper,springs/and shocks still not to stiff.
