Hey fellas,
Got new grips to put on my new bars. I cut the ends off to about where the rivet goes to put my hooks on. Did I wreck them? My thumb warmer works. I figured the warmer ended before the rivet on the end. Idk. Pretty bummed. I think I've read every post in this section btw!! I love this site and my blue sled.

Do they not work now? Remember they wont start to neat till the are on and sled is runn above 4000 rpms for a little while. You should have not gotten into the element. Did you check the resistance with a meter?
The thumb warmer is on a seperate circuit, so that will work fine even if the hand warmers are bad.
If you have a multimeter that can test for continuity, just unhook the hand warmers and put the leads of your test into the 2 wires coming off just 1 of the hand warmers. If it beeps or whatever signal it will give, then you know the circuit is complete and that hand warmer is good. Usually when these go bad it's because the circuit is broken.
If you find that one handwarmer is fine and you are in a bind and want to ride, you can just hook the one handwarmer up for now, instead of having them both hooked together in series. Have done that a few times over the years.
