The other day I was placing an order with dennis kirk and decided to order some extra plugs. I thought I was ordering NGK BR9es plugs and when they came I discovered they were infact BPR9ES. They are apparently for a 700 Polaris. Can anyone tell me the difference in these 2 plugs and if I can use them for something or do I have a half dozen really nice paperweights. I don't want to pay shipping for 14 bucks worth of plugs. Thanks Gil

If I'm not mistaken, BR9 ECS is the correct and only plug to use. It must be this plug, or replace pistons as they will melt... Ask me how I know.

But again I could be, and often am, wrong.

Good Luck, John

Hey gil,
I dont know the difference but i think there is a plug chart on here somewhere that tells ya what all the numbers and letters mean. And BR9ES Is correct for viper the The SRX uses the ecs.

Thats what I thought I checked my manuals for both the Vipers and Vmax's they both call for the Br9es the SRX calls for the ecs.I guess if anyone knows somebody with a 700 polaris they can have them for what it costs to mail them. I don't want to risk it for $14 worth of plugs. I know my luck and I know I'll get way more them $14 bucks worth of being sorry!!LOL!

I believe I did the same thing

I am not certain, but I think I had a similar problem. Check the gap. I am not looking at my manual right now, but i thought the p plugs were .18. The correct plugs were .22. do not quote me on that. I had to send them back because the gap is incorrect, and cannot be changed. It was a smaller gap, and could lead to poor combustion, or even a burn down. Poo was apparently having a problem with a specific machine, they change the spark plug to try and rectify it. My 2 cents.

On another note, i think they have the plugs I want cheap, but they are slightly mislabeled. I get br9ecs. Which is the solid core plug. Kirk has them as br9essoilid. Odd, but I was goin to order some of those.

Thanks Chris, That makes sense Maxco. I guess I'll just hang on to them incase I ever come accross soeone who can use them. Thanks Guys

See, I was wrong. Sorry I was leaving for work, and in a hurry. Should have looked them up. I just didn't want anyone going through what I did.

The IX is the added code letters for irriduim....IF you thaught the ECS was pricey....HANG ON! Tried my first set last season. Fouling wasnt ever ever an issue and didnt really notice a differance over the whopping 400 mile season! I get sled plugs at Advance Auto parts. The ECS run $5 per and the IX run $8. Some places they get more than the $8 for ECS, If you foul plugs at all worth the extra money.

WOW $8 a plug. Wheww! You can get a whole box of BR9ES for $20 at the local sled shop, and i think that 10 of them. Just one more reason im glad i ride vipers LOL! But they sound like they are worth the money for the SRX's. Hey Lucky7 didnt mean anything by my post, just confirming with gil that the vipers run the 9es. You are right on about the SRX's needing the ecs's. ;)!

My Canadian Tire charges $20.00 for a pack of 2 ECS for my SRX. I now clean them with CLR. Going on season 3 with same set of plugs (3,000 miles on one set so far).

Mine were fouling like mad, but replaced plug caps and its fixed. Ecs's we're fine but love the iridium. Even have them in the raptor and john deere.

three years ago I fouled a plug on my 2000 srx, I wanted to keep the plugs the same so I swapped out all three for three BR9ES, thats all they had, three years later and I'm still running the same plugs, is it luck or is the rest just hype??

if everything is right with the sled the plugs arent going to foul very often. I always get a kick out of my friends that keep a box of br9es in their bags rather than find out why they're fouling plugs. the br9es will work when all else is right. I just run the ecs in the srx because thats what it calls for.
