Checked to see if my studs were tight and good for giggles.
Found that they all needed a few cranks plus. Had 1 pull threw and another broken at nut in around 500 miles. Really glad I checked them.

Great tip right there. One of those things that's real easy to take for granted. I'll be checking mine this weekend.
I suspect (if they are push throughs with nylocks) that they weren't fully tightened when installed. A thick track can mask the resistance felt when the nylock/backer contacts the sholder of the stud. In other words, the thicker the track, the easier it is to under-torque them.
Although I've never used them - I think the plastic nuts would also be proned to under-torqueing since they'd be easier to strip.

I Ceck The Trail Sleds Once A Year And The Race Sleds After Every Weekend Of Racing Not To Often On The Trail Sleds But Alway Find Loose Ones On The Races Sleds Even With Red Loctite
