Im putting on a new CYL. and a piston and the piston pin the much thicker then the other 2 stock piston pins.
I put them on a scale and its liken 26 grams heaver then the stock ones, so i check the piston to see if it was lighter then the stock pistons and its the same as the other 2 pistons. So its going to be almost aan ounce out of balance on that one CYl., ???
Will it be fine or should i just order a stock piston pin to match the others and call it done!
I wounder why they did this or did i get the wroung year piston and pin, is it a newer year piston kit, are the newer piston pins thicker then mine, it wouldnt make since they would do that if they know the stock piston pins are much thinnner!
This is a pain since it takes a week to get anything around here in Boston, Ma.. Have to mail order everything and im just getting this motor to the point were i have everything and rolling along and now im at a stopping point AGAIN!
Thanks in advance for any help!

Why Do You Think They Send This Monster Pin With The Piston Kit When They Know The Stock Ones Are Much Thinner?
Did I Get Like A Newer Kit Or What? That Sucks They Do This, Now I Have To Wait Another Week For A Dam Piston Pin...

So the outside diameter is the same but the inner wall is thicker? Maybe drill out the center hole to match the oem ones. That will get you closer.

someone has used wisco pins, very common to do on a sled to do. Just order a wisco pin for your piston. 26 sounds about right for the difference between a wisco and stock.

yes its an aftermarket piston and pin and its the same on the outside, fits fine in the rod bearing but its just thicker and heavy then the other ones.
I think that the balance will be off BIG TIME, but i never ran across this issue before with outboards so im not sure if the balance matters on this 2 stroke motor, i would think it does.
The old pin and bearing is not the best of shape, im gonna call around to try to find a stock pin.
Just thought people should know that they might get diff pins when changing top ends and to watch out for this if its bad to let fly.

What I am saying is, the lighter pins that are thinner at the edge than in the center are made by Wisco. Many people install the pins only in their sleds to drop thrown weight on the rod. It doesn't matter what combination you run, as long as that combination weighs the same. If the new piston, weighs the same as the old pistons, which I bet they do, you will want to order on Wisco pin for your new piston. Last time I bought one it was 9 bucks .

It's a Wiseco pin, I put them in mine because they're lighter. 3 Wiseco's are almost the same as 2 stock. Revs a little quicker (maybe).
