I just put a 8 tooth anti ratchet driver on my 02 viper. Is there any way to adjust the speedo to compensate for the smaller driver.

Get a speed drive unit off a mountain Max. 2000 and up I think. Factory 8 tooth drivers. That is what I did on my srx.
I believe it is taken care of in the guage. The mountain vipers use a different part number for the gauge but the rotor for the sensor is the same part. you need less teeth. I went the other way on my apex. since yamaha is obsessed with having a meter read 11% off, when I installed 10tooth drivers, my speedo is now very accurate but my odometer is off about 11%, since that was very accurate.
anyone out there ever run into this difference in gauges?? Never had a mountain viper to test this out with . Just going by the part numbers, that is the only difference.
sorry for my confusion, I fixed it.

seems like at one point you had the option of removing one of the teeth from the speedo drive gear thats mounted on the end of the driveshaft as a correction for 8T drivers.
i thought the concept was in the tech pages but a quick glance didnt show it. maybe i have it elsewhere. just tossing the option out there.

Thanks for the input. I also thought there was a post in regards to removing a tooth, or somthing like that. I have tried to find it, but no luck. If anyone comes up with info please show me the way.

I am running a viper mountain gauge on my srx this year with 8 tooth drivers. Will have to wait and see how accurate it will be. I assumed it had a smaller diameter pick-up rotor with less teeth vs the std. viper but I had nothing to compare it to. I can count the teeth tomorrow to confirm.
