I have a 570 Exciter with what I believe are VM-38 Mikuni carbs. I bought it a few years ago and rebuilt the carbs first thing. I understand there was a Service Bulletin modifying some hoses, power valves and jet sizes. I found a "BB" pushed in one of the hoses and thought someone was messing around. Was that part of the bulletin??? Now I don't know where all the hoses are supposed to be and which one was plugged. Help.

yea, that was the yamaha way. goes in the hose that connects the float bowl to the top,BB should be at the bottom, other methods were block off screws in the float bowl in place of the powerjet,my carbs are off at the moment if you think a pic would help?

Pictures are my middle name, the more the merrier. From looking at my manual, the Power Jet screws into the bottom of the float bowl? WHat does the bulletin do, remove it and plug it ??

you can do that with a bolt and teflon tape, the bulletin put a bb in theline,i have both, lol ill get some pics up tonight for ya

one line is 450 mm one at 350, the inner vent line raps around the carb and they all end up between the carbs and go under the motor mount, the update was on here somewhere if you can do a search for it,good luck
