Trying to buy back an Exciter I sold to a guy 8-9 ish years ago (if I can get a hold of him) that had a twin pipe PSI kit on it. I bought the sled with a little over 500 miles on it with another and just flipped it after going through the basic services. It now has over 3500 and is still running so it must have been a fairy decent setup. As I recall the sled really ripped for an early EX (87,88? can't remember).

It was the pipes, with PJ delete carbs (maybe bored), needles, tubes, jetting, I think an air box mod (again been a while) and possibly a clutch kit. I had the PSI instructions with it and they went with the sled.

My Q is, Anybody remember these? If so how good were they? Will they work on the Ex-II's?

Thanks for any input,

i have a set of psi pipes ill sell you. im sure i have the flanges and all. just use the stock needle from a 1990 or an 89...one of the two.. they were pretty identical. i have the carbs too but i messed up the choke threads and seat of one of them so two pipes w/flanges one carb.

i have the exact setup you just listed minus the airbox and i have q6 nossles (if tubes) is what you were refering to. its so fast lots of power... and with wot in my yar it will un-dig a buried dog bone and send it through a living room window, when not enough snow is tested on. LOL

PHIL, I HAVE A SET ON MY 93 EXCITER SX. SLEDS A ROCKET. SO MUCH FUN TO RIDE. NOW I BELIEVE THERE WERE TWO SETS FOR THE EXCITER AND EXCITER 2. ONES I HAVE RUN AT 7750 TO 8000 AND NEED NO UPDATES BECAUSE THIS IS A SX. THE PIPES FOR THE EARLY EXCITERS I BELIEVE MADE POWER AT 7500 AND YA NEED ALL THE CARB UPDATES AND THE FLYWHEEL UPDATE STATED ABOVE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

hey i have a problem the dang sled rips but since you will probably reply fast ummm. my sled seems to want to dive into the powder like a submarine and currantly my airpods are ran 90 degrees straight up from the carb and then out the venti created holes for... im building a cold air box this time.. but is it my skid needing adjustment so the sled sits at a better angle? i was gonna widen the struts a little b ut i have plastic skids on my skis and all..hmm idk... thanks

The twins made peak hp at 7750rpm, if you put them on a Exciter II with bored carbs, shift 7900~8000 rpm. No more then 8000, hp falls like a rock after that

testing a set right now with some flatside carbs and they rock! using phII 89F weights and yellow/orange spring. got a short video in the photo section, hit 90 on the stand pretty quick..

interesting i have a set of psi's here on a sled that i bought right from bruce and they are supposed to run at 9000 rpms ..........IMHO the best set of pipes for a 570 is a set of the Aaen cone pipes for a vmax 600 run them at 8000 rpms and bring it in at 5500 and hold on musch more bottom end and mid range ..........just something i tried years back that worked great and made the ex even more fun to ride

hey my two sets of psi pipes are almost identical but the spring attachers that are welded on the pipe are in different spots..one set is 1 to 2 inches farther away? is there a differnce in the pipes or did they come factory with differnt locations? thanks let me know asap...THANKS GUYS! :2strokes:
