I searched and read till my eyes bled, but got conflicting part numbers.
1998 srx 700s with ohlins.
Does anyone know for sure how many differant bearing sizes there are in the skid?
I got 6205, 6204 and 6004.
Anyone know for sure and what the specs are? Are they 20x42x12?
Dealer wants to rape me so I'd rather buy them in ten packs and pay less then they want for one. :o|
Thanks

Bearings for rear idlers are number 6004 and other ones are 6205 common bearing should be available at most auto parts stores

Appreciate that.
Just returned from our local Yamaha dealers and after 2 hours of painful questioning I finally got that from them. But not before dropping another couple hundred on them. They atleast printed me off an exploded suspension and all the part numbers.
For future reference, the 6004 bearings are 20x42x12 and the 6205 are 25x52x15.
Some of the sites I visited for bearings only listed these numbers so it made it difficult to know what to order from them without knowing those numbers.

Too bad you didn't do a search on here. Several of us have posted a lot of info on bearings over the last 10 years. Also there are websites that have all of the size information listed. Remember that not all bearings are created equal and the seal types vary. The letters after the number generally indicate seal type and material, and any shielding. Also the parts catalog is available online at www.yamaha-motor.com and several parts dealers.

I did Ding, thanks. I suppose my key words have a little to be desired.
It was here that the bearing number 6204 came up. Added to my confusion.
I'm 50yrs old and have had sleds since the tender age of 5 but sledless the last 10yrs or so. Still have my sled shed though.
I ordered all NTN for the case, J-shaft, d-shaft and idlers. No snow yet, so the sleds tore apart. I wanna know what I have when I head out on a new to me sled. Judging by the idlers, there was little to no maintenance during the whole 2600 miles this thing has gone. Clean to look at. lol
Got the carbs cleaned up and power valves before I even looked at anything else. Runs like a top on the stand. Just need snow.

The NTN Blue bearings are very good bearings. You can get them reasonable online.

If I remember correctly, and thats a feat these days, they were about $48 for ten.
A couple new oem idlers were $27 each with cheap bearings but that was at the dealers. The new gloves at $120 near floored me. Not to mention the new helmet with heat and sunscreen, the ice rider suit, leather suit, baffins and fluids. Still need storage of some sort, trail pass and insurance. :o|
It's been fun and all, but I sure would like to ride it. My yard is still green. :letitsnow
