01 yammy srx 700 Need HELP.Gas spraying from bottom of valves
I have a 01 srx 700 tripple,i had local yamaha dealer summerize my sled for me.They had done carbs, fogged, power valves, and checked for other problems.Well i had just started sled to put on trailer for northern wi tommorrow.well since it was fogged it was not easy to start, but before it did there was a big pop,so i looked over engine nothing seemed to be wrong,so i took around yard for 5min.i was going to put new plugs in holder when i noticed fluid spraying from bottom of valves to the top of flanges"it smelled like gas.any help would be great.it was pretty rough idle hard to keep idle, liked to die on full choke all the way to no choke.Just not running like it should.any help greatly appreciated

Spraying or leaking/driping? Was sled turned off or was it still running? If it was turned off how long had it ben turned off? Fresh premium in tank or last years fuel? Sounds like at the very least carbs are dirty/pilots plugged with the ethanol sludge of death.

With the quality (or lack of) in todays fuel its a must that carbs are clean. I called around a couple years ago and came to the conclusion that mechanic shops are CRAZY. Figured with the cost of parts if not cleaned right I might as well learn how. As for some reason I knew this would be a common thing to come.

This is/was my personel favorite "how to" when I was learning. Some guys pull the throttle/choke cables from handlebars/dash. I found it easier to remove them from the carbs.
