I have a 97 700SX that has never had the shocks rebuilt. (6000 miles) It rides better than my friends sleds with half the miles and seems to be a great ride to me.

Am i just fooling myself thinking that the shocks do not need rebuilt yet?? I'm afraid to get them rebuilt thinking I might be in for a harsh ride when I get them back.

If your happy with them, don't bother. I too thought I was over due (10000 kms, 2000 sxr) and had them rebuilt this summer. For me it was peace of mind to know they were good to go for another couple of years. Worth the money? Debatable. I personally have put over 1200 kms on them and don't notice much of a difference, maybe a tad stiffer.

If you get them rebuilt, they will ask you weight and ridding style and they will be custom fit just for you. I use B-Line in Mn, he's good, he's cheap, and he used to be in the team Yami trailer, so he's also very smart. I got my Ohlins rear adj back last year and they where set perfect. Maxdlx
