I am doing the electrical upgrade to my 98 SRX,adding 2000 electronics, and was told among all the other things I changed that the thumb warmer will have to be changed as well.I see that there's a different part number for the 98/99's vs the 00-02's but I ohmed out my 01 today and then grabbed a spare I have for my 98 and it ohms out the same.So what is the difference in the 2 thumb warmers if it isn't the resistance?

If the electrical resistance measures the same, that's all that counts. You should be fine using any thumb warmer with the same electrical resistance.

I would go cautiously, I thought the same thing until I burned up a couple on my dual bulb venture. They both worked great for about 15min then nothing. Then I checked the number and saw they were differnt and installed one from a viper, never bothered.
might be coincidence or ???? not sure. i wont mix them again

Update:
I have 3 spare throttle levers and apparently one of them is from a sled with the higher wattage ignition. For the heck of it I ohmed out all the levers and 2 of them measured roughly 46 ohms and the third measured around 71 ohms, the same as my 01,so there's the difference in the 2 levers guys.
