I am buying an Equinox cutter for our 3 year old to ride in and need to attach to pull behind an SRX.
Any suggestions on where to get a hitch quick?
I need heavy duty that attaches to the tunnel...Any Suggestions nnthe type?
I ride 1 up 90 percent of the time but have a seatjack and now need to add a hitch to accommodate little ones...
Thanks!

The Yamaha accessories one was very good and strong. Nice to have an added measure of safety when towing a kiddo with it.
I did have to laugh though at the picture that came to mind . . .
Muscle sled capable of 100+ mph . . .
.
.
.
. . . towing a sleigh with a youngster in it (Ricky Bobby type maybe)
I'll see if I can find the part number and a pic . . .

Make sure that cutter has a tall windshield, and seatbelt!

I am interested in a hitch for mine also. Mostly for pulling my portable fish house around.

SMA-BUMPR-A1-00 was the part number for the tow bumper, and then you had your choice of either a pin or a hook hitch.
The big mail order houses also had hitches that worked well.
Really all you want to do is brace it to enough of your tunnel that it won't stress the metal. Towing too much on the stock bumper will fatigue the aluminum over time and it will tear. Most heavy duty hitches have a plate that runs more than a foot up the tunnel.

Think there are different models but the equinox 685 is what I have and it is one of those enclosed egg looking ones. I use a home made bumper the guy had I got the equinox from. Its just like a regular bumper but with another one about 4 or 5 inches above it and a few braces between the two, the rail on the top also mounts to the tunnel, so the stress is spread out over a few more mounting points than just the original bumper.

Do you know if this part just replaces the stock bumper or does it go up the tunnel for more bracing? Thanks!!

Replaces the stock bumper, and has 2 bars that mount on the tunnel so it is stronger. I can't remember if it had additional strengthening plates that go inside the tunnel, but some did.
