I am changing oil from yamalude to the amsoil HP. Is it ok to mix the oil or should I wait until the yamalube is almost gone before I add the Yamalube. What kinda range should I get with a full 3.1 quarts in my 94 VMAX 600 ST. Plan on riding around 500 miles or so this weekend. Would a gallon be enough for the weekend?

It says on the carton that you can mix, ...I'm told the synthetic last longer in the older VMAX's, which I might add are traditionally oil pigs.
You can mix, but out of habit I always wait until I am low before the swap either way you are fine just as it says.sandmanmike1 said:
My old 94 600 seemed to be almost exactly 1 quart of oil per 100 miles. Sometimes you can back off on the pump setting with synthetics also but I would moniter things closely before doing that.
