OK last year I had a burned out brake light on my Phazer II. I thought I'd be clever and replace it with an LED. The LED didn't work either, so I thought I had a wiring problem. Tonight I was playing around with it after cleaning the carbs. I flipped the bulb around and put it in (of course you can't make that fit because the posts on the side are offset so the bulb only goes one way) but the LED lit up, so I tried a regular bulb and it works fine. SO my question is why would the LED work one way but not the other? Is there a polarity difference? and is there something I can do to make it work?

it might be the socket depth. i know i tried to put one in my et410 and it would only work, even for the tail light, if i held a bit of pressure on the bulb. threw an 1157 back in and have not messed with it since. all contacts where cleaned too as i thought that might have been the problem.

I know that the bulb goes in one way, but doesn't work. If you look at the knobs on the side they are offset so you can only plug it in one way. But if you flip around and hold it in it does work. This is an 1157 LED bulb. The base profile looks the same as the old bulb. For now I just put a new standard bulb in.
